Nurturing Faith, Community and Spiritual Wellbeing
At Mildmay Institute of Health Sciences (MIHS), we recognise the importance of religion and spirituality in supporting the holistic wellbeing of our students and the wider Institute community. We provide an environment where students are encouraged to practise their faith, participate in religious activities, and build meaningful communities while respecting the diverse religious beliefs and traditions represented at the Institute.
Chaplaincy Services
MIHS has a Resident Chaplain who provides spiritual guidance, pastoral care and support to students and members of the Institute community. The Chaplain is available to offer spiritual counselling, guidance and encouragement, as well as to support students in their religious and personal wellbeing.
The Chaplain also provides guidance and oversight for student religious activities conducted at the Institute, helping to promote an environment of respect, unity, responsibility and peaceful coexistence among students of different faiths.
Chapels and Spaces of Worship
MIHS provides dedicated spaces that support the spiritual life of students and staff.
Ssuubi Chapel
Ssuubi Chapel provides a central space for Christian worship, prayer, fellowship and other religious activities. Student religious activities may be conducted at Ssuubi Chapel under the guidance and coordination of the Resident Chaplain.
The Chapel provides an opportunity for students to come together in worship, reflection and fellowship while strengthening their spiritual lives during their time at MIHS.
Acasi Chapel
Acasi Chapel is another dedicated space that contributes to the spiritual life of the MIHS community. It provides an environment for prayer, reflection, worship and other activities that promote spiritual wellbeing.
Muslim Worship
MIHS recognises and supports the religious needs of students of the Muslim faith. Dedicated spaces of worship have been provided for Muslim students, enabling them to observe their religious practices and participate in worship in a suitable and respectful environment.

Respect for Religious Diversity
MIHS is committed to promoting respect, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among students and staff of different religious backgrounds. The Institute provides an inclusive environment where members of the community can practise their faith while respecting the beliefs and practices of others.
Through its chaplaincy services, chapels and dedicated worship spaces, MIHS seeks to support the spiritual wellbeing and holistic development of its students as they prepare for professional service in the health sciences.
