The security operations of Mildmay Institute of Health Sciences are overseen by the Head of Security, who manages a team of security officers from a private security company.

Safety Tips for the MIHS Community
The safety and security of everyone at Mildmay Institute of Health Sciences (MIHS) is a shared responsibility. Students, staff, and visitors are encouraged to remain vigilant, take reasonable precautions, and promptly report any security concerns to the Institute's security team.
- Report criminal cases and security incidents promptly to the nearest security officer or the Head of Security. Provide accurate information and cooperate with security personnel when requested.
- Be vigilant about people around you, including fellow students and visitors. Do not assume that everyone on campus has legitimate business at the Institute.
- Protect your personal belongings. Avoid carrying or keeping large amounts of cash, expensive electronics, laptops, phones, and other valuables in places where they may not be secure.
- Secure your residence and personal space. Do not leave valuable items unattended or allow unknown persons into your room or residence.
- Be cautious of strangers who may attempt to gain access to your residence or obtain information about your belongings. Report suspicious behaviour to security immediately.
- Take extra care when moving around after dark. Avoid isolated or poorly lit areas and, where possible, move with other people rather than walking alone.
- Be careful when using public transport, including boda-bodas and taxis, particularly when travelling at night. Use reputable transport options and remain alert to your surroundings.
- Protect your vehicle and belongings. When parking a motorcycle or motor vehicle, ensure it is properly secured and avoid leaving laptops, phones, bags, or other valuables visible inside.
- Do not fall victim to fraud or scams. Be cautious of individuals claiming that they can influence admissions, registration, examinations, academic results, graduation, or other Institute processes in exchange for money. Official MIHS processes should be followed at all times.
- Do not give money or personal information to people promising quick solutions to academic or administrative problems. When in doubt, verify the information with the relevant MIHS office.
- Avoid unlawful activities, including violence, destruction of property, disorderly conduct, or participation in activities that may compromise the safety and security of the Institute community.
- Do not harbour or assist criminals. If you become aware of suspicious or unlawful activity, report it to the security team or appropriate authorities.
- Look out for one another. Students and staff are encouraged to promote a culture of responsibility, vigilance, and respect across the MIHS community.
