Built on the principles of quality and hands-on exposure, the school offers students practical training aiming to ensure that they are adequately prepared to respond to the health care needs of different communities.  The school boasts of a team of dedicated experienced Tutors committed to empowering students with specialised knowledge and skills in Clinical Medicine. In addition to a skills laboratory equipped with modern training equipment, students have access to the Mildmay Uganda Hospital and other busy health facilities that help them link theory to practice.

As part of their training, students undertake the “Mildmay Unique Graduate Course”. This is an in-house programme specifically designed to develop students’ competencies in Compassionate Care, Communication, Comprehensive HIV Care and Management, Sign Language and Business Leadership. It is intended to address critical needs in the work-place and to prepare students as future leaders in the health care field.

While at the school, you will gain professional credence through our robust flexible learning environment that enables uninterrupted connection with Tutors. Graduates of the school have improved patient care at all levels of health care in both private and public sectors in Uganda and the region.

We are accredited by the Ministry of Education and Sports, recognised by the National Council of Higher Education and regulated and supervised by the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC). We are also registered as an Examination Centre by the Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board (UAHEB).

CAREER PROGRESSION

Upon completion of your course, you will be ready to upgrade to different post basic professional courses at degree level in the fields of Medicine and Surgery, Anesthesia, Radiography, Palliative care, Ophthalmology, ENT, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Health Promotion, Social sciences, Nutrition, among others.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS COURSE

Eligible candidates must have;

  • Uganda Advanced Certificate in Education (UACE) with a principal pass in Biology and a subsidiary pass in Chemistry, plus any other subsidiary pass in science related subjects, or
  • A Certificate in any health-related field e.g. Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Laboratory, Environmental Health, Public health and registration with the relevant professional body, plus at least five passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at O’level.
  • The school is open to both National and International students.
